The EICC pointed out that some metal minerals have become the main source of income for armed insurgent groups in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa, used to trade arms and continue its policy of violating peace, thus triggering international controversy. Vicfuse declares and promises not to accept the use of metals from conflict mining areas; it also requires all of our suppliers:
• Must fulfill social environmental responsibility.
• Ensure that products do not use “conflict minerals” from countries and regions in the Congo and its surrounding areas.
• Trace the gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn) and tungsten (W) sources contained in the product to ensure that these metals are not from “conflict mines”.
• Communicate this request to its upstream supplier.
Conflict metal: refers to minerals from the conflict zone of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The categories are strontium iron, cassiterite, black tungsten and gold. These minerals are refined into tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn) and tungsten (W) and gold (Au), respectively, for electronics and other products. In the near future, the use of metals from certain smelters will be banned, so all key suppliers must trace the source of the metals used in their parts and the smelter.
